I don’t have a problem with the principle of gambling but the companies absolutely shouldn’t be allowed to do any marketing outside of point of sale.
What is “allegedly” about that? Gambling firms advertise, and they also have targeted advertising. So yes, obviously they are doing this. It is just good business.
> “Neither Coral nor any Entain brand actively targets young mothers or any other potentially vulnerable group”
…just say “any other group”; you obviously don’t mean that you only actively target groups known to be invulnerable.
I know kicking the ‘vulnerable’ habit is hard, especially when cut with such flimflam as “potentially”, but you lot due to your profession are surely *au fait* with addictive practices.
Is it worse than any other gambling adverts? Half the adverts I get on Spotify are for gambling (sports specifically). Daytime ITV is entirely sponsored by gambling companies, football cannot seem to live without it; horse racing is the same. I am not excusing it here but it is hardly unique either.
They get children to gamble via computer games with the governments blessing so nothing surprises me about the gambling industry any more.
