Let me guess; It‘s „for the safety of our children“ or some BS.
So tech companies are the one that would scan all the data. They have proven themselves as trustworthy.
Nanny state wants to be in your lives to save you from yourselves, or so they claim. We all know where this is going.
You want less safe data, because this is how you get less safe data you clowns!
So what, all encrypted messages such an TLS enforced email? That ain’t gonna work. Of courses it’s somebody that doesn’t know anything about it that has drafted such an idiotic proposal.
That would be a fun bank requirement.
I assume you wouldn’t get fined for using such an app, but distributing it…
Would be a shame if someone posted the source code for a messaging client, or TOR.
Oh wait they already have.
End-to-end encryption for criminals, but not for the average person. Yeah that definitely improves everything.
Especially when the backdoor gets found and hackers can freely read credit card data from any online purchase that passes past them.
I believe the European Commission wanted (wants?) to ban it as well.
And considering it is not only one country wanting this, it’s just a matter of time. And there is ever decreasing amount of freedom in Europe and yet another of many reasons why USA is far superior.
Every government desires to outlaw end-to-end encryption. does not imply that they will. They are unable to carry out their duties, such as population management, surveillance, and policing, as a result. Thankfully, more people are realizing the value of privacy.
How would they do this? It’s technically impossible.
Is it done to keep the kids safe? I bet it’s to keep the kids safe.
