Cultural sector up in arms against corona closure

  1. If you think about it, assuming a consumption in cinema is made mandatory, how exactly is it different or less safe than a bar? If anything it’s safer! More space in-between people, proper ventilation, bigger room with high ceilings, everyone facing the same direction, face-masks are mandatory if not eating/drinking (although not always followed), etc. It’s also the only place which actually verified my ID instead of asking for just the covid-safe pass.

  2. Except for live shows without seating you can perfectly control the safety at most events, in many cases probably much more than in bars. Closing culture makes no fucking sense.

  3. They just looked at the financials. What would it cost to close down horeca vs what it would cost to shut down the cultural sector. First one would be a lot more expensive and would result in far more complaints, so they went with the, probably less effective, second option.

Seeing as we are all going to pay for whatever is shutting down, I get why they chose the cultural sector. They should just be honest about it instead of doing this whole “we’re really sorry but we can’t do anything else!!” bullshit.
