
Please help
This morning I went to check in my german bank account and saq I only have like 3 euros. I had like 4,500. I am at VR, and they have 2 apps, one for secure transactions and other for account.
Please help, I’m not in Germany currently and the bank opens from 8

I already made anzeige to police, but can I add this? Can I expect them to bring me my money back or is it completly my fault?

You surely paid stuff here you don’t remember. An standing orders on place for rent, public broadcasting fee, insurance, mobile phone contract anything?
Call the bank as soon as they open.
Check your online banking and see if when where money was withdrawn or transferred? Also does your Bank usually have a daily transfer limit?
Regardless, absolutely contact your bank and figure out ASAP how they managed to access your money.
Does your account app not show your transactions?
Most likely your debit card got skimmed and they saw your PIN code and used it to withdraw your money with the duplicated card.
Recently some hackers (I assume) figured out my VISA card number, expiry date and security code and paid with it in an online shop in another country that I haven’t been to. Apparently 2-factor authentification is not used every single time when the value is below a certain amount so they paid several times for about 30 euros, half of which went through, and for the other half my 2-factor authentification stopped it because i didn’t react (it was in the middle of the night)
I immediately called the bank as soon as it was open (which was only the next day because it happened sunday night). They immediately deactivated my card and I was told to go to the police, make an “Anzeige”, then bring the documents home, scan them and send them to the bank together with a form that they gave me to fill in.
The money was transferred back to my account by the bank 3 days later (they have a budget for that to compensate people when something like this happens). They will try to get it back from the online shop too. but if they can’t they will lose the money, not me.
I was told on the hotline that I have to act IMMEDIATELY and if I do that chances are that the bank compensates me. They told me they can’t promise me anything but in their experience (as customer service) they can tell me that if the victim acts fast and does what they are told to do (police, documents, etc), they are usually compensated without a problem.
Btw, I use an online bank (ING), so there is no place to actually go to. Phone worked very well.

In the meantime, if you can’t do anything yet: Document everything, take screenshots, think about whether you lost your card or if someone else uses it too, or where you were at the time of things happening. You will need that for the police. Most important is that you do whatever is asked of you to the best of your knowledge as asap.
Your card has been cloned probably. Contact the security department for your bank.
