This is probably true. One of our dogs has arthritis and he now gets weekly hydrotherapy (plus physio at home). Took about a week to get a slot.
We (well, the insurance) obviously pay for this, but I shudder to think how long I would have to wait for similar treatment on the NHS given the chronic levels of underfunding and the poor management (never mind the impacts of Brexit and COVID).
I can’t even be mad seeing that picture of the Golden Retriever, though. He can have all my potential future hydrotherapy sessions.
Private businesses more incentivised to remain open than publicly funded services, surprise surprise.
accessing hydrotherapy as a disabled person has always been near impossible, they’re just being honest about it now.
Because one is private and one is NHS funded… capitalism versus socialism
Is that because animal hydrotherapy has nothing to do with the NHS?
As well as the public/private difference making this a silly comparison, I wonder if covid among animals is something that gets ignored (with or without justification) and it’s simply an easier service to perform.
You could make that ridiculous argument about absolutely anything you pay for privately.
Where I am the standard course for Hydrotherapy on the NHS is 8 sessions.
After this you can continue but it’s £25 per 8 sessions and it’s on selected days.
