New Investigation Warns Of Factory Farming’s ‘Silent Takeover’ In UK Dairy

  1. So depressing. I knew a lot of dairy cows spent 6-7 months of the year indoors (which is bad enough), but the fact that around 20% literally never see pasture is really shocking.

  2. And of course if you dare critique animal agriculture people will just brush you off as some crazy vegan.

This shit is horrific but people don’t take it seriously because everyone would rather laugh at vegans/animal rights activists because of a stereotype.

  3. **Fun fact:** the cows on the left side of the pic are little boys, thus surplus to requirement since they’re unable to be impregnated to produce milk. They keep them in those tiny pens to restrict their movement, atrophying their muscles so that they can be turned into veal.

The dairy industry has a wide victim pool.

  4. Oh no, not more output for less cost…

Brits simultaneously want cheap milk, cheap beef, but also high paid supermarket staff, and the highest animal welfare conditions in the world, an orgy of contradictions.

It’s so weird that folk care about the QoL of these cows they’re happy to execute, dissect, and then consume

  5. Well supermarkets pay less than it costs to produce in many cases. Not sustainable for small farms.

Supermarkets use it as a loss leader or brag about low costs, but it’s the farmers being fucked over than makes it happen.

  6. The totally unbiased and fair site, plant based news 🤦

Can we not keep posting this vegan propaganda here? Go post it to a vegan circlejerk sub.
