If I was responsible for a global company, hundreds of thousands of employees, a plethora of regulation and compliance frameworks and be solely accountable for success and future of a 104 year old company, then I would also probably want £4.4 million.
What’s to stop my company saying that we’re all registered in Ireland for tax purposes? How is he getting away with this?
if hes there out of merit. its fair enough. thats a huge job
the probability however is hes not. whats this based on? ive been in commercial environment for 12+ years and i would say merit accounts for circa 15% of promotion prospects.
The rest is arbitrary opinions of the people above you, politics and nepotism
CEOs should not be on this amount. Start ups and ceos that started their own companies I’d understand but there’s very little risk involved in this plum job. A reasonable salary would be £500k.
