  1. ” Mr Zuckerberg has dubbed 2023 the ‘Year of Efficiency’ and has pledged to make Meta a leaner, more technology-focused company. ”

I’d love to see his plan as to how he can turnaround what’s primarily a marketing, advertising and data mininig company into one that’s technology lead. Despite all the warnings he still went feet first into his second life/Metaverse disaster.

  2. Nice redundancy package.

MNC I work for had a queue of people wanting to take redundancy because they were going to end up with 100k plus

  3. I still don’t understand how the board of meta are leaving Zuckerberg in place.

He has funnelled so much money into the stupid metaverse, and no signs that anyone actually wants it.

  4. Fucking poxy for all impacted. Atmosphere during redundancy process is vile. Even if you’re happy enough to be heading off.

Hope everyone gets sorted with a nice pay off and gets a new job as soon as they want one.

  5. I haven’t seen anything about those cases in the courts relating to PTSD for those in the Dublin office. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a load of payoffs happening that we don’t hear of.

  6. Obviously this is part of global layoffs, but I hope the timing of this announcement isn’t linked to the record DPC fine against Meta this week.

  7. Youve got to love these creepy companies preaching their we’re-family approach, only to mercilessly dump thousands of their staff for efficiency purposes. Yeah sorry son, love you but you cost too much, bye.

  8. terrible for the people impacted. I’m worried that a lot of them might be recent hires and so won’t get decent payments.

I think this news is bad, but the entire sector is downsizing globally because they over-hired during COVID. This is not a reflection on Ireland.
