  1. I’m paying already a tariff that allows using two devices simultaneously. No way they make me pay more. Also, how do they distinguish my relative using my account from another country from me traveling abroad?

  2. Who watches Netflix any more? I’m anyway not interested any more in their teenage, full-of sex-and frustration series.

  3. I mean in Switzerland we have one of the best legal system for piracy, learn to set up a plex account, download what you want from torrent websites and you’ll have a free netflix that you can share with family. Just need good storage.

  4. If only they still had good stuff to watch people might consider paying more. But they just have garbage at this point. People already pay for multiple devices. It shouldn’t matter where these devices are located.

  5. Netflix is in Switzerland already costs a ton more than in most other places – greedy bastards

  6. Every single Reddit thread I’ve seen about this is like *these idiots, look how literally everbody is cancelling*, yet Netflix has tested this in multiple countries and their profits are up.

  7. Me, pirating stuff I want to watch: Well, it must suck to get a worse product while simultaneously paying for it..

  8. How will that work if I go to my parents over weekend and want to use my Netflix account on their TV?

Or if I go to a friend and want to use it there?

Or if my significant other who officially has the same domicile with me mostly is in another city due to study or work?

If people are blocked from using their own accounts because they are sometimes somewhere else, Netflix is going to anger lots of people.

  9. So does that mean if i want to log in my netflux acc from for exampke a hotel i have to pay for it? 🤔

  10. Wie wenn chrebs vo zvill rauche bechunsch. denn hörsch au uf mit dem seich.

    Jetzt hämmer offiziell netflix chrebs.

i bi froh chani dä unfassbar schlechtisti streamingdienst ever endgültig vo mim tv verbanne.

Aber kategorie wie >!”leute die die farbe gelb mögen”!< und >!”filme in denen kaffee gekocht wird” !<werded schwer vermisst werde, woher holi blos inspiration wani söll luege?!

  11. I’m paying 63CHF per year for Disney+ and share it with 3 friends, we are living in 3 different countries and Disney doesn’t care, as long as we pay, and it’s around 1,3 CHF per month per person. I also have Max and Prime Video and those 3 cost me much less than Netflix only. That’s why I gave up on their services

  12. In other news: Peoples are taking action against Netflix by canceling their accounts.

Seriously, first Netflix had to buy cheaper productions and cheaper productions yielded low excitement in the paying crowd.

Now that these measures didn’t bring in more cash or paying folks, they try to reduce the number of people that share their account in hopes to bring in more paying customers.

Not saying that account sharing should be free, but lower quality and more draconian measure are not really a way to make cash..

  13. I pay for the 4 screen account. If they have an issue with my mom and sister having their own account and using it as they do (outside my home) and if I have any issues using Netflix in my second residence I will just cancel.

  14. Anytime streaming services get greedy is a great time to recommend plex with sonarr and radarr.

If you’re gonna pirate, at least do it the right way – those apps combined are pretty much better than netflix.

  15. To be honest, I never understood the excitement about this announcement.

Netflix never allowed to share the account with people not living in the same household. They just ignored the abuse until today.

And somehow, I assume most people who complain are those who are now forced to buy their own account.

  16. In this comment section: people who are streaming without paying threatening with stopping to stream without paying.

To those who will inevitably downvote me: your downvote just means I’m right 😉

  17. We haven’t received anything… we share it with some people from our family, but we think they seldom use that.

Anyhow, if we receive something I’ll vote to scrap it.

  18. Similar to all price hikes: Where is the better service that makes up for it? Netflix has lost so many good shows to the competition and still behaves like they own the damn place. Get in line.

  19. I canceled my subscription after Netflix cancelled The OA and Altered Carbon. Cancelling 1899 and what they did with The Witcher just reinforced my stance.

  20. I am not clear on how would netflix algorithm find if family subscription is not shared but used by same members outside during traveling on their mobile or tablet devices.

  21. We’ve had this in Canada for a bit. used to use a friends account a few hours away, now I use my upstairs neighbours. If it’s the same setup, just have to swap over to his wifi every 30 days. So if you use a friend or your parents and visit at least once a month – it’s easy to bypass.

  22. I’ve opened my netflix account while lived in Cape Verde for a while. Until now I pay 10 usd/mo and share my acc with a friend in Cape Verde, Mommy in Poland and me (in Ch). I hope they won’t find me too soon.

  23. I’ve had every streaming service before, but the hassle between switching and stuff going away etc. just made me go back to piracy. I mean it’s even legal here so why not. If anyone is interested, [www.justchill.tv](https://www.justchill.tv) is probably the best available free online streaming platform.

  24. Already canceled months ago

Reduced catalogs, shitty shows, shows ending after one or two seasons, even when there are more.. no thanks. Especially for those far to high prices
