  1. Is this guy crazy?! He wants to have the underfunded and understaffed Hulpkas handle the unemployment benefits?

    ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE!

  2. I never understood why the unions, whose main task is to represent the working people, are the ones that are paying the unemployed people. Why can the government not do that?

  3. What disturbs me is the fact that unions these days are very often regarded as something up to no good. I am 54, never been without a job and even this covid thing made me stay at home for just one week, then my employer has taken measures to continue work in a safe way. (Happy for that) I have a house, we own 2 cars and a motorcycle, everything got payed by working for it. I was lucky enough so far by always having a good job and never have big health problems, both can be different tomorrow, you never know.
But we should never forget that it is thank to the unions that we are represented and protected, i guess no employee would favour the ‘Daens’ situation? For sure, not everything is correct and there are wrong people in the unions too, but if they are not there; who is going to defend us? I believe it is rather dumb to believe that companies will pay a good salary if they are not forced too. It is not humanity that takes them to low-cost countries after all. Never think that the politic is there to stand up for us, look how they gamble with our lives and comfort when it comes to economics. (Taxes, pension, solarpanel broken promises, energy prices, punished for having a car while cutting down public transport, irresponsible savings on public health and civil protection, … etc.)
People should think about it when they vote, even those who now have a big house, fat car and good salary, are next to nothing if circumstances turn out bad. Some might thing they no longer belong to the working class, covid had proven it is otherwise.

During this covid crisis, it accured to me that some bigmouth politicians were quit silence on this topic all of the sudden, while now they are waking up again, making big statements without ever taken any responsibility. Pointing out what is wrong is not difficult, offering a solution is quit another thing. For all things, only solutions are going to keep us going.

So, it does not surprise me that some political parties try to break the unions, that is to be expected. It is worrying however that many of the working class supports them, believing they are not just working class anymore, that they are better and unions are a problem. Think twice…..
