I bought an online ticket (via www.bahn.de) for a trip from Wertheim to Berlin. The itinerary has me first on a bus (Wertheim ➡️ Würzburg), then on trains the rest of the way. When I look at the QR code for the trip, it looks to be only for the train segments – not the bus. But the trip itinerary includes the bus segment.

So I’m confused. Is the first leg of the trip on the bus included in the price I paid for the online ticket? Or do I somehow need to get a separate bus ticket for the first segment of the trip?

Thanks!

  1. On the train ticket should be the routes you have booked. If all the routes are covered on there, you can use the ticket on all of this routes doesn’t matter if bus or train.

  2. I just looked into this connection, it’s a “Teilstreckenpreis” you’ll have to get a separate ticket for the bus, as only the train fares are included. You should have a detailed listing somewhere in your order.

You should definitely consider getting the 49€ Deutschlandticket. It’s cheaper and the bus will be included.

    Edit:https://www.bahn.com/en/offers/regional/deutschlandticket

Edit2: I assumed you’re traveling with regional trains, hence the tip for the cheaper Deutschlandticket. But it’s the same story with the ICE connections, the bus fare is not included.

The Deutschlandticket doesn’t include high speed trains which will double your travel time, so maybe it’s not for you.
