Netflix emails Irish customers about account sharing

  1. Well hello there Apple TV/HULU/Paramount, loads of options out there to replace them. As a family we share, Prime, Disney +, Now TV sport, and YouTube Premium, to be honest I don’t think we’d miss Netflix.

  2. It’s like they’ve forgotten why they were so popular in the first place. Companies get greedy, push people back to piracy until there’s a new option. Then the cycle continues.

  3. What constitutes as account sharing?

If a family of 5 each have a profile on the account and the kids move out of the house for college and work, does that mean it’s account sharing?

  4. The pirates life hasn’t always been kind to me but when living in Canada I had Netflix, prime, Crave(HBO), Dazn, Sportsnet, Disney etc it was time to go back to the life I thought I’d left behind.

Don’t even have to torrent anymore, hd streaming on fire sticks! Barely even need a hardline internet connection anymore

  5. The more they tighten their policies, the more potential customers slip through their fingers to surf the Seven Seas….

  6. Hahaha piss off Netflix, we already have a much worse selection than US Netflix and half of it is shite. They used to make jokes about password sharing on social media and it was working fine but of course they had to get greedy. With the amount of competition in streaming services nowadays they shouldn’t be driving more people away if they’re wise

  7. A load of shite. They already have the feature of only allowing 1 to X (depending on which subscription you have) simultaneous screens, so they should not have any fucking say in where those screens are open. I pretty much only watched Netflix when on public transport on my phone anyway, in fact I don’t think I’ve watched it on anything but mobile internet in the last 2 years (having said that, I probably should’ve cancelled it ages ago seeing as I probably have less than 20 hours of watchtime on it over those 2 years)

  8. The high seas are healthier than ever. I have the TVs streaming from a central SSD 🙂

I do have NowTv though aswell so I don’t have to constantly download shite the missus likes to watch.

  9. I think I pay €9 for the basic package – I occasionally up it to the standard package for €13(ish?) if needed, like if we’re traveling and my husband and I both want to download shows on to our phones. I drop it back to basic then when we’re home because we typically only watch it on the TV.

I think it’s brilliant value to be honest but I seem to be in the minority.

  10. I don’t even share an account but cancelled my membership anyway. Its not much of a sacrifice because I use Now and Disney+ more but I want to vote with the wallet. Greedy bastards.

  11. It’s fractioning into what Cable tv was before it. Now you got multiple streaming providers and yu can only watch certain shows on their platform. This will only turn people back toward piracy.

  12. Canceled Netflix last week, got myself a Plex subscription for 7 quid a month and am happy a pig in shite
