TFI live app:

  1. Yesterday it told me there was no bus for 20 minutes. I was just about to start walking and then one showed up..I would have been raging if I hadn’t got that one

  2. Bustimes.org

    Hasn’t let me down yet.

The busses have, but they still show on the site as they shortcut around your stop.

  3. Bustimes.org. Just bookmark your route. Shows the live location of your bus, as well as its reg and even what color the bus is!

That TFI Live app is an embarrassment. If they can’t cobble together a basic, easy to use app I’ve no hope for implementing any useful change in the bus network. All they seem to be doing is giving routes new numbers and new buses but not solving any of the physical reasons why the bus network is crap. Such as no bus priority and zero enforcement of bus lanes, with no interest in using camera enforcement like every other decent city. It’s a joke.

  4. Tbh, I noticed some improvements in TFI app lately compared to how it used to work. It actually started showing the same time for 18 as the screen on my bus stop and it used to be some completely inaccurate random time just a few weeks ago. And I feel like they actually synchronized Dublin Bus times with the old Dublin Bus app last week or so when I was comparing both to see if I can really use it as a replacement.

  5. The times on the TFI app seem pretty reliable to me but the functionality of the app is horrific. It’s laughable.
