I am putting together a campervan trip with some friends, in total we will be three campers. My approach currently is to add activities to a [google map](https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/1/edit?mid=1qSnrjsl3eyUOiMsMRGJhpU58B8sF480&usp=sharing) that I think are within “fair driving time” to make a nice 4 day round trip without slogging the driving. And then once I have a map of activities and cool stuff, I can draw the route through them. Its going well. Plan is to leave the airport and head towards Honefoss and then north into Valdres get into the beginnings of the jotunheimen national park and then head east, to come down to LilleHammer and back to the airport. The time of year is mid august.
I have a good amount of activities like kayaking etc, but where I could do with a hand is the things that are trickier to judge from googling, for instance any traditional Norwegian things we can do, food/restaurant wise for instance I came across the Rakfisk Festival which I don’t know if its on then, but that sounds like something I’m not going to get anywhere else. Or any bars/club recommendations that people happen to know about that I can add to my map. Or perhaps I am skimming past something I just definitely should go and see and is worth a bit of a detour of my plan.
All suggestions appreciated and I can get to work researching. Thanks

  1. If I were you, I would go a little further west, let say to Sogndalsfjøra, because that is where the amazing fjords are.

You are starting in Eastern Norway, then you seem to spend a lot of time in the western valleys and in the mountainous areas that divide the East and West Norway, but it does not seem you will get the Western Norway experience. And trust me, it is sooo worth it.

If you choose to go further west on E16, you will pass Borgund with an amazing stave church, it is worth a quick stop and a look.

If you drive down to Aurlandsvangen on your way back, you can drive through the longest tunnel in the world. Local people call it the most boring tunnel in the world, but to me it was facinating driving through it. And from Aurlandsvangen to Hol, you are driving through AMAZING and crazy mountain roads and tunnels.

I would basically skip a lot of stuff on E6, skip Dombås and the horseback riding and go further west quicker and spend more of your time there.
