So, you have priority as a pedestrian if you cross from right to left, but not if from left to right? Am I getting that right?
Isn’t this the Pierstraat, where one side is Aartselaar and the other Rumst?
There’s a bridge like that in Southern France.
Ah yes, the Belgian “bandaid” approach.
/r/NotMyJob classic bureaucracy, somebody has to pave the road, another entity is responsible for the road markings
Een dag niet gezaagd is een dag niet geleefd.
Het zebrapad is voor één rijvak, voor het andere komen er verkeerslichten.
that’s a nice jump
By the rules of the zebrapad you have to sprint from the sidewalk, step off on each of the 3 lines, and jump over the black.
Oh yeah, had the same for the main avenue I cross nearly everyday.
It was without markings for a month after they redid the entire road and let me tell you, it was fucking dangerous to cross for a month.
I cross that street almost every day. It’s annoying, but nice car drivers luckily seem to yield priority anyway. Hope they paint the missing stripes soon, so I can at least gesticulate wildly when the other drivers ignore priority at the crossings as they did before…
It’s literally the same on my street! Half of it beautifully paved and the other half still with cobblestones!
That’s our version of “Platform 9 3/4” … The belgian version.
Who could ever imagined that after pouring asphalt you need to repaint…? There will be emails, meetings, discussions and in 2/3 years they will come with the painting.
We do a little trolling
A little bit off-topic, but it is a pet peeve of mine…yet another crosswalk without a curb cut.

There’s no road design laws in Belgium.
