There is a campaign by Decathlon gathering signatures to include PE in the highschool final exams. I saw a poster about it at a bus stop but also ads on YouTube: https://youtu.be/_bAmQpG-Fl8 What do you think about this idea?

  1. What about permanently disabled people? If they have cure for example, lost limbs, why not share it instead of pushing for a dumb matura addon

  2. If it’s not mandatory (and on the website it looks like it’s not) then there is no problem with that at all.

The video is cringe as fuck though. Most people hate PE because in most cases the only thing the teacher does is give class a ball and let them play football/volleyball/basketball (which is even included in the document at the website).

  3. It won’t change a thing.

Just like Physics, Biology or History, it won’t be mandatory, so it won’t make PE more respected or kids less fat.

At the same time, no serious university will recruit on basis of results of PE exam. Except for some niche cases like University of PE.

  4. As an elective option, I’m okay with it even if I see it as rather dumb.

As part of the basic requirements, I’m fundamentally opposed – it would be horrifyingly discriminatory to any students with physical disabilities or with medical conditions that impair their physical capabilities.

  5. I just can’t take this as a serious suggestion. It’s just absurd.

  6. Would be a nice thing for people who want to get into military universities, police schools, etc, but they’re fine already so I don’t see the point

  7. Honestly may promote more physical therapists which isnt a horrible thing- as someone born int he US we never had anything close to BHP training at work- I learned a lot from it when I took it here lol
