Nothing really that you can’t do, but I would avoid getting into discussions about Russia.
Don’t do drugs.
Don’t do anything stupid that can put you in a jail.
Don’t hesitate to ask for help.
Don’t be scared to meet new people.
Don’t be ashamed of yourself.
Don’t forget to enjoy your trip.
Don’t take some post from wannabe “funny” dudes on this subreddit seriously.
Don’t provoke fight.
Pro tip: Don’t visit
Slovakia isn’t all that dangerous, people for the most part don’t pick fights and have basic manners. You should be fine:)
(At least in the big cities)
Don´t kill people randomly, or call them bzdocha. Do NOT enter alcohol drinking races with the locals, lose is inevitable. Do not hit your teacher. Do not mix beer with milk, you will get sick. Do not cross the stret when there is a car on the street. Do not walk naked on the streets, ah there is so much to not do.
We’re culturally very similar to Hungary so just use common sense and don’t do anything you wouldn’t do in Hungary.
Have a nice trip.
Never call us Upper Hungary/Felvidék.
Drink from a bottle that has the words ‘klasik’ or ‘familia’ on it
Starting politics discussion with a taxi driver.
Don’t present any rainbow colors or similar signs on public too much.. yeah, sad unfortunately.
No drugs, even 0.0001g, unless your want to extend your stay in Slovakia for 15 years at least.
Then you are safe, ask locals, people are usually helpful even if they don’t understand well.
Don’t smile at strangers in the street. You will not fit in.
Same as you wouldn’t do any other country lol
First of all, don’t go to Hungary
Scream that Jánošík was hungarian
Never stop and continue on your way to Hungary
Visit Slovakia
Don’t try to impress locals by your newly learnt Hungarian. (Unless in Komárno, where you might be then mistaken for liberator.)
Do you have any clothing or anything in general with Greater Hungary on it? If you do, then don’t.
Travel to Slovakia
Just don’t be an asshole and we’ll be glad to have you.
Stop at all
Slovakia is overall safe, even at night. Just some drunked fighting etc very rarely so you should be ok. Compared to my experience in Berlin or specially London, Paris it is way much more safe.
Probably just use basic common travel sense:
* Dont use standing TAXIs in front of the train station, instead call one or use bolt/uber.
* Dont wear rainbow colors flag
* Probably do not discuss politics with strangers (like ukraine or russia)
* on train station, bus station there is always a few strangers and homeless people, so do not look too much on them, they will max just approach you to ask for cigsrette or change
* its not common that somebody approaches you in the city to give you something for free, so just be aware that it can be some scam – mostly romanian gypsies and so on.. but it is not so common
Well, you shouldn’t go to Hungary for a school trip, but it’s too late for that now isn’t it.
Visit.
Don’t cross the road as a pedestrian if you have red lights. If there’s a police officer near, you’ll get fined. Always buy a ticket in public transport/trains as the chances are high your tickets will get checked.
dont come here. Easy
Whatever you do, Don’t start a conversation about Ukraine.
Don’t go there lol
Don’t do marihuana, unless you buy it from an approved vending machine. Our penalties are unreasonably draconian.
Politics and history are brutally intertwined and still alive.
Hungarian won’t impress many people (unless you run into me).
Don’t mix borovička with beer.
Don’t ask about a war between Czech Republic and Slovakia (there was no war).
If you’ll go Via Bratislava, don’t eat bryndzové halušky there. If you pass central/Northern Slovakia, feel free to try them.
Drugs is a big no-no here, so don’t think of bringing and weed.
The local alcohol (spirits) are generally crazy strong, best avoid completely! Or if you ‘must’ drink it… ‘brzda’ is your friend! (It’s a soft drink you drink after the shot) And don’t be brave and use beer or you generally won’t remember your trip at all! The spirits mostly finish with the sound, “ica”, which in English sounds like “it’s a”, and man “it’s a bad idea!”
Outside of the city’s, Slovakia is beautiful! It’s amazing to get out into the Forrest’s hiking and stuff, there are waterfalls and everything! Genuinely some amazing views out there!
In the cities, it looks quite run down/tired and there’s normally graffiti EVERYWHERE
Dont discuss politics
Do not forget to visit Petržalka, it’s a nice neighborhood. Not visiting Petržalka is a cardinal sin.
Dont call slovakian people hungarian
Don’t be gay 🙃
don’t go to Slovakia. it is an enchanted land. The beauty of girls can change your heart. and it may happen that you won’t be able to leave anymore. and above all, don’t drink our magical drink called beer.
Don’t get in touch with local gypsies people, probably you get robbed
Dont tell you are comming from Hungary actually
Don’t cook anything without garlic, you might be deported.

I don’t know about other cities but in Bratislava instead of a regular “Taxi” use apps like Bolt, Uber, Hopin etc. For public transport in Bratislava you need a ticket in advance before you enter the bus/tram or maybe you can buy a fare with a card using a machine inside (if it works) or using [an](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.casperise.urbi.online.bid) [app](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/ids-bk/id1360894243?l=sk&ls=1)
