I invented (obviously it existed, I just didn’t knew of it) my own way to wrap due to this (if small enough), get a bit extra paper and make go for about half extra from the gift’s length (with a max that makes sense if it’s a long one) on each side, use 2 ribbons to tie that extra paper up, it’ll look like a candy wrap with the gift in the middle, scissor the ends to look nice.
