You know, this is exactly what I love in Europe (I mean in the better part of Europe; dare I say the Western part of Europe): We are circle jerking with our politicians on skateboards (better alternative) or some decent scandals (worse alternative), but there is an apparent vector of unification and awareness of shared culture & values. No more wars, no genocides, no religious fads, no invasions, and even not so serious intelligence games against each other. 21st century is beautiful on our continent, isn’t it?

    Not trying to sound anti-American, I just think European politicians should celebrate activities/sports that originate from Europe which are many.
