Minister Van Peteghem not in favor of a mandatory interest rate increase on savings

    forcing banks to raise interest rates. With this he goes against
    coalition partners Vooruit, Groen and PS. Last week they called for a
    law to force banks to raise their interest rates.

    It seems that CD&V cares more for banks profits than for common people interests. Taking note.

  3. He IS strongly in favour of increasing the interest rates – he even sent the fucking initial letter to the banks on his own accord telling them to raise it. What he ISN’T in favour of, is legally pinning every bank’s interests to that of the ECB (similar to the index). That would be very bad news for literally everyone.

  4. RIP to everyone who wants to get a mortgage in the next few months, banks will just raise the rates to hold their marigin a bit
