I thought it was pretty funny

  1. > We want safety, but your military supports the use of nuclear weapons.

That’s ironic. Norway is safe from the Russians *because* of the nuclear umbrella the US provides NATO members.

  2. Wow, this person is a delusional individual, they have not comited the most war crimes, nuclear weapons is the reason we haven’t had another world war, and if I’m not mistaken this individual sound like they’re against nuclear power as well… yea, this person needs an education in what’s real and what’s not.

  3. As long as there’re nations and interest conflicts on anything, we’d rather to have US than Russia and China.

  4. I wish I was that naive, heck I’m from Germany, we are a rich country and powerful country yet I know very well that without the US we’d be helpless against bigger enemies like Russia or China if they were to decide to attack, like it or not, US presence keeps us protected and while I don’t agree with all they do with their military which military doesn’t have a track record of some evil/mistakes in its history?
I wish things were different, I wish we didn’t need nukes and military budgets that could feed all the hungry in the world but that’s not how things work sadly.

  5. Ok, let’s see.

European countries that have nuclear weapons. France and Britain.

Countries that invade its neighbors and threatened other countries with nuclear annihilation if they help a country to defend itself from an imperialistic facist state. Atm, it’s Russia.

Countries that invade another country destroying hospitals. Civilian infrastructure and just indiscriminate doing warcrime as a way of war. Again, atm Russia.

Yep, make sense it’s USA that’s gonna start a nuclear war.

  6. As others have already mentioned, it’s from a local activist group. One of the members was invited to the “Debatten” debate show and admitted to hanging the flyers. Turns out she was also a member of the “Red” party (Rødt). She does not speak for me.

  7. People shitting on Norway as if they cared, US is a joke comparing to what Norway as country and government has become

  8. Is really interesting how in the sub “EUROPE” we have only post created by russian and america propaganda.

  9. Absolute cringe. Some westerners really lose their minds from all the privilege they have.

  10. We call these people in Czechia either flastenec (grammatically wrong written vlastenec, which means nationalist) or chcimír (which are basically two words, chci which means to want and mír which means peace) or my personal favourite, dezolát/dezolé (that’s literally desolared human/people)

  11. Guess they want the US Army and not the marines. Can’t agree, I am more of a marine enjoyer although airborne troops do make me tickle.

  12. It’s ironic when you consider that Norway is one of the biggest arms dealers in the world.

Remember all those drones killing civilians under Obama? Yeah, built in Norway. They just ship them without weapons so they can claim innocence.

Norway is profiting like crazy from the war in Ukraine, both by selling weapons and from the shortage of electricity in Europe.

Happy to be Norwegian, but the image that we have of ourselves as these Scandinavian Peace Negotiators is very, very wrong.

  13. I am norwegian, and this poster does *not* reflect how most norwegians feel about this american warship docking here. The United States is our ally, even if it isn’t the most peaceful country.

  14. They use the word “we” a lot to make it seem like it’s a lot of people saying this. Barely anyone here actually thinks like this. These stupid flyers aren’t anything to take seriously

  15. The only nation that is engaging in nuclear saber rattling and threats is Russia, so perhaps their issue should be with the Kremlin, but I digress. I’m curious what their opinion would be of French and British nuclear weapons? Either way, pretty funny. Free speech is a good thing, even when it’s stupid.

  16. Not Norway but in Southampton we had peace protestors out the other day with ‘No to NATO expansion’ banners out.

And the much celebrated former opposition leader demanding an immediate ceasefire in Parliament.

Who would that benefit I wonder?

Tbf I’m not suggesting anything nefarious, but it is desperately naive.

  17. The only thing that can stop a Russian with wheat-paste pretending to be Norwegian

Is a Norwegian with wheat-past, not pretending to be Russian

  18. As if in a nuclear war Russia wouldn’t target all major cities in Europe even if they did not host nuclear weapons in the vicinity
