Hello guys,

I want to build my own PC and I am wondering where to buy it(Cyprus is notoriously expensive for PC parts and frankly i have no clue why- It is part of the EU, with no additional taxes, VAT is normal…I dont think Shipping is so expensive).

My initial plan was to buy it from Amazon(de), but my 865 euro PC configuration will cost me 1145 euro with the delivery costs(280 euro)…which is ridiculous. For example, the 4k monitor is costing 309 euros, but the delivery is 150 euros.

From where to buy it ?

P.S

[E-shop.cy](https://E-shop.cy) is better option but with limited stocks/items and still expensive

I heard a good thing about [www.skroutz.gr](https://www.skroutz.gr), but I am not sure about delivery

costs.

In general, i need to look for Greek websites/computer shops-normal/European prices and cheaper delivery ?

  1. Check out bionic: https://bionic.com.cy/
    And Needy: https://needy.shop/

    Both are based in Cyprus.

Also a bit of advice. I’m not sure what PC youre buying, but if it’s a 800 euro PC then you definitely should not buy a 4K monitor. Since you’ll be primarily using it for gaming, you will never reach good enough frames on ANY game to play at 4K or even at 1440p.

Feel free to reply to this comment if you want any help with what parts to buy, etc

  2. In my opinion, there’s no better option than computeruniverse.net

Nothing comes even close to their prices, availability, and shipping costs for cyprus.
    (they’re based in germany)

Another alternative is caseking.de, which has more variety, but is slightly more expensive.

I’ve been ordering pc parts and entire builds from them for years, and never had any real issues.

  3. Definitely don’t use amazon. Computeruniverse and skroutz.gr i have used plenty of times without any complaint. Local the best are bionic and eshop. I also do know about custompc.com.cy but have not used them.
Since you’re going to be building it yourself order from a few of the above to ensure best prices. Don’t get everything from one store.

  4. I’ve just build mine. I’ve got all parts from computeruniverse exept the GPU where I got it from amazon because it wasn’t available on computeruniverse. I’ve placed the order last night so delivery time is unknown.

I’ve checked Cyprus shops beforehand but there isn’t any real options to begin with. Very few variation of brands and athey’re far more expensive than enywhere else. For example my case was 110 euros in CU but a similar one here is 190. Motherboards are out of the question. there’s at least 100 euros difference.

So in conclusion try computeruniverse. Reviews vary, but shop with your pocket!!!

The only thing I would search and probably buy from Cyprus would be the monitor.

  5. Not recent but when I built mine a few years ago I used DreamyShop. He’s located in Lakatamia.
He’s very helpful and I refer to him anyone who’s looking for a PC. I like his service

  6. ComputerUniverse in Germany ships to CY with decent shipping prices; overall the cheapest way to get tech shipped to CY

  7. I built mine in December.

Got most of the parts from Computer Universe. Price wise they aren’t bad, support is mediocre, and they’re notorious for items going out of stock right after you order them. And you can only cancel such items, but not replace them with similar ones that are (seemingly) in stock.

After re-ordering a few times I managed to get everything but the GPU (they didn’t have it) and the case (which went out of stock).

I got the GPU from LDLC, as it was the cheapest I could find (using gputracker.eu) and shipping was ridiculously cheap.

Then I ordered the case from Amazon DE.

When everything arrived, I realized that they sent me the wrong RAM. It actually had two labels: the one from CU was wrong, the one from the manufacturer was correct. Sent it back, got my money back, even though it took a few weeks. Ordered the right RAM from Amazon DE.

A colleague of mine used Custom PC Systems, and they weren’t bad at all, but for most items their price is Amazon/ CU plus shipping 🙂 And IIRC they ship from Germany anyway as their warehouse is there (but I may be confusing them with Singular here).

The bottom line is, it’s quite possible to build a very good PC here, but it will cost a lot.

BTW, I’m trying to sell my old one now, so if anyone is interested in a “10400 + 2×8 GB RAM + 2×240 GB cheap SSDs + lots of cheap crap” PC located in Paphos, you’re welcome.

  8. Singular.com.cy is also a really good option besides what you already noted and the rest of the comments/suggest

  9. If anyone needs used Sapphire Pulse RX5700XT (dual bios, very good GPU for gaming) in good condition, let me know please, have it for sale for very reasonable price. Located in Larnaca.

  10. I bought mine from aeiben parts are slightly more expensive but it was faster, they updated bios, consulted me on parts and were ready to build it, I didn’t have to worry about doa plus without delivery costs it became actually cheaper and they had great stock

  11. As a lot of people are saying, computer universe is one of the best, but when i built my pc, i went through a lot of different websites. So i would suggest checking around on different websites, even outside of Europe. Just remember that there is import tax for those. Also from experience i would suggest ordering as little as possible from Cypriot stores they usually are more expensive and have a higher chance of fing your order up.

  12. Hey. I think computers are expensive everywhere at the moment if they contain dedicated graphics. Check out Alza.sk – they used to ship internationally

  13. find what you need in skroutz or any other german website with good price check even amazon de. then you need eshopwedrop to delivery to cyprus.

  14. I used computeruniverse and everything was cheap and came in great condition. Relatively fast too. However, about 1 year later my power supply died (no biggie, it happens) and I had 2 years warranty. Well..good luck communicating with them lol. I needed my pc for work immediately so I bought a new one after 1 week of not hearing back from them. Im pretty sure i havent heard from them since. I called and emailed them and their website is in german i think? A bit weird but great experience with the products overall.

  15. I cant understand something for computer [university.net](https://university.net)

1)I make a test configuration-all parts including the heavy case and 32-inch monitor…the shipping cost is 40 euro. But if I want to buy only a laptop(which is several times less weight than a full PC configuration, the shipping cost is 110 euro.

2)They mention on their website, that they have a PC configuration option where they can build your PC, but I dont see such an option on their website.

  16. I own a store, the reason prices are higher in Cyprus is because there is no market for it, not enough customers. A dealer i work with has much better dealer prices than Computer Universe for example, but their minimum order is so big its not worth the risk for me. The best i can find in most cases is similar prices with Computer universe, and then add my profit on which means my price will be like 10% higher than computer universe, but i add other services to it to make it worth it.

In the past i even considered opening a website for it and risking it all like making those big orders and having better prices than computer universe, in cyprus without the shipping. But at the end i always think the market is too small for such thing and lets say i order 20 CPUs, and 20 of everything, by the time they sell the price will change and i will just get fucked. Prices change almost weekly if you are buying from a big ass dealer. The sales person i know in that company sells 7-10 million Euros worth of shit per month, and thats just one sales man. There is no way you can sell that in Cyprus, they mostly sell to other countries

  17. Some advice:

If you’re buying from amazon, make sure everything is shipped from amazon warehouse, then everything comes together in the same box and shipping is cheaper. The price of monitors is not that hugely different locally.

You can also try hagglezon.com, it let’s you compare prices across different amazon stores (dont forget to stick to EU only, import taxes…)

Also it isn’t cheap to ship cases either, so look around locally as well.
