I used to live in a place just like that on West 15th Street. The rent was only $300 but it made me decide that I didn’t want to live in NYC anymore.
With 1/3 of the salary…
I recently was applying for a mortgage for a apt in Portugal and they said the bank said don’t want me to spend more than 35% of my monthly take home. Which is almost impossible if you’re single and want to live alone.
The difference is that in NYC most people earn way more than even the Top 10% earners in Lix do.
Meanwhile, there are 20,000 houses unoccupied in Luxembourg. In New York, that’s not the case. So inflation in Luxembourg is artificial and due to lack of regulations (read ‘political incompetence’ which can be read as conflict of interest).
Comparing LC with NYC is a hubris.
The nerve to compare provincial Luxembourg to NYC 😂
NYC: this costs USD 1975
Lux: Amateurs…
NYC: WHAT?!?
LUX: AMATEURS !!!
Stop bullshitting. For 1800 Euro you can get a very decent small to medium sized apartment, even in Luxembourg city.
