I really just hope the People’s Party gets enough to govern alone.
jajajaja estamos jodidos
Spain is collapsing unto itself as always, however this will happen just at the start of its turn of the EU’s Presidency.
It will be a People’s-VOX coalition most likely, yes? Basically, Spanish POPiS lol.
Let me explain why he called them for those who aren’t into spanish politics.
Yesterday, local and regional elections took over and the general results were that the left parties lost a lot of power, except PSOE (Sanchezs party), which remained similar. On the right, PP remains strong, but it would need the help from VOX (extreme right) to govern.
This means that if PSOE wins, Sanchez will likely govern alone (not in coalition, like is happening right now). If PP wins, it will have to decide between making itself an ally with the far right or separate from it, giving the left another legislature.
And all this will happen while we see how the regional parties struggle in the battle for power.
Why are the conservatives doing so well in big cities?
It’s a smart move.
PSOE has held its own in these elections and has not lost as many votes overall because it has been able to compensate for some territories with others. The parties that have collapsed have been those to its left.
By calling the elections in 2 months, PSOE can sell itself as the only party that can stand up to a coalition government of the right and extreme right, coinciding with the regional and local pacts of PP and VOX.
And PSOE will do well regardless of the result: either it gets an (almost) absolute majority and can continue to govern but this time alone, or it gets a good result for its party to easily get through the years of opposition.
Hope they get to stay in power
Any predictions who will win the majority?
What is VOX’s stance on LGBT issues? I have seen so many conflicting reports, some even suggesting that they are close to Orban’s Fidesz. Is this true?
I saw in local elections that ‘C’s’ have all but collapsed. What happened to them? 3rd biggest at some point right?
Spain doing the same strategy that Portugal did
Elections in July? Isn’t it like really, REALLY hot in Spain during mid-summer?
Good. The sooner these communists are out, the better for my country.
Guess that’s my birthday gift ig, yay…
I wonder what’s happened that made Europe start burying their socialists governments and turning sharply to the right
Very good finally the evil socialists will lose can’t wait for PP+VOX government also glad to see the far-left extremist pro-beastiality party aka Podemos is dead
