They always seem to get away with it for most of their lives and then get a handful of years when they’re already old men. I wish there was something more restorative that could be done to help the victims on top of the abuser getting prison time.

Mary Butler, when campaigning for the last elections, sent former politician Brendan Kenneally out to knock on doors for her. One if the doors they knocked on was that if a former victim of Bill Kenneally. Definitely a coincidence, but, the wife of the victim posted on Facebook about how discussed she was that the brother of her husbands abuser was campaigning door to door, as the allegations/conviction was still raw. Mary’s Butlers official Facebook page laugh reacted to the post, of which I still have screenshots of. She claimed to be the victim of a Facebook hack, and even changed her profile picture when she tried to claim it was a “fake page”.

That’s some kick in the teeth for the poor victims to have the courage to relive those experiences and your man gets only 4 years? Secondary school for them would have been like 5 or 6 years of prison thanks to that monster.
