  1. Apart from the sweets section, this isn’t far off what the English section in french supermarkets have. All things with no local equivalency.

Similar pricing too, way more than is reasonable for staples, but when you want that taste of home, you will swing the extra.

  2. I’ll never get over finding Duchy Originals teabags and biscuits in the PX on Bagram Airbase in Kabul.

  3. I’m astonished they have Mrs Ball’s Chutney!! (To right of curry sauces). I have trouble finding that in UK supermarkets! I was under the impression it’s from South Africa. And blinking delicious it is too.

  4. Huh. I should stop complaining about the price of heinz in Tesco. Do Americans really not have mint sauce?

  5. Now that I’ve seen a thumbnail on a small screen, all I’m thinking is that “f ngers” is a very odd advertising campaign.

  6. I genuinely thought Irn Bru wasn’t allowed in America. It is now. I don’t know how to feel. Bring back the original. Some weird sort of pride that I had orange shit running through my veins that was so toxic even the yanks wouldn’t touch it.

  7. Borders biscuits and Tunnocks Caramer wafers are good. Which Canadian snuck in the Coffee Crisp?

    Ribena is God tier.

Edit. Lion bars are awesome. Needs Double Deckers though.

  8. Heinz UK gets its beans from North America so those beans have been on quite a journey. Also, $5.49 for a tin of tomato soup??!! They’re ‘avin a laugh.

  9. That’s pretty good. I’ve lived in the US for the past 15 years and when I do see a ‘British’ section it’s often a mix of British, Irish, and occasionally Australian and Canadian stuff. More like a ‘commonwealth’ section
