My absolute favourite thing about this government is not all the bad, unfair and unreasonable laws, legislation and bills that they’ve passed over the years, but that even when they actually pledge or promise to do a genuinely good thing, they always find a reason not to do it!
Oh the government is afraid that Labour are going to challenge them on other policies if they pass this bill? They’re concerned that it might bring up the question of hunting again and using hunting dogs? Ah fuck it, let’s not bother then. Such a strong government that is able to handle reasonable criticism.
The manifesto commitment made two PMs ago are worth nothing to us the voters and nothing to the current PM, give us a GE
Going back on a promise, like the scrapping leasehold lie, then blaming Labour for their duplicity. What a surprise.
Disappointing. So many bad people took advantage of short sighted people during lockdown. Hopefully it’s just delayed
Bill on animal welfare scrapped because “politicians might play political games…”
The “Labour might play games” line really irks me.
What’s that even mean, they might submit amendments to the bill that makes us look bad? So vote them down? The victim complex of this government holy shit.
Imagine having all those hoards of people working on comms and briefing the press and being that lazy at setting a narrative.
People will cry about this but will still eat and wear animal products, as if those animals also do not suffer too.
The fact is there is a lot of money to be made off animal suffering, whether it is animal agriculture, fashion or sport (good luck banning horse racing). Money and influence trump ethics and morals every time.
Do people really think these people care about animal welfare when they’re hellbent on scrapping human rights?
