I admit i’m a bit uninformed- but why exactly does Serbia want Kosovo anymore? Just stubborn pride? I really don’t see how adding a region of ethnic minorities with a very different culture and language who do not want to join you helps Serbia.

Its so fricking easy to say “i’m against war and violence” and then just call for unity, reminds me of the people who say the same about Ukraine/Russia. “Oh please we are brethren just be kind and stop fighting”.

The recent disorder began after Kosovo Serbs – who account for about 5% of the country’s 1.8 million population overall – boycotted April’s local elections in four northern municipalities that are majority Serb. This allowed ethnic Albanians to take control of the councils.
Belgrade backed the boycott – resulting in a turnout of just 3.47% – which was sparked after the Serb community demanded the establishment of a promised association of Serbian municipalities.
Despite its support for Kosovo, Both the EU and US have criticised Pristina for destabilising the situation and urged the authorities to “de-escalate”. This advice appears to have fallen on deaf ears.
What I don’t get is why so many people on Reddit are against Kosovo remaining part of Serbia, but fully for Donbas and Crimea being part of Ukraine. Like, shouldn’t we respect the territorial integrity of all nations?

KFOR claims 25 injured soldiers [on Twitter](https://twitter.com/NATO_KFOR). This is therefore surely the most accurate information.
On the other hand there were claims that 41 NATO soldiers, of which 11 were Italians were injured, as [reported](https://www.corriere.it/esteri/23_maggio_29/kosovo-feriti-militari-italiani-996aba90-fe40-11ed-a887-b62165246337.shtml) by Corriere della Sera.
According to the medical services in Kosovo, over 50 Serbs were injured per [Vox Albania](https://www.voxnews.al/english/kosovabota/53-te-lenduar-nga-perplasjet-ne-veri-te-kosoves-njeri-ne-gjendje-te-r-i40919).
