If aliens technologically advanced enough to achieve interstellar travel actually are watching us, then there’s fuck-all we could do about it anyway, so there’s no sense in worrying about it. If we’re lucky, then they have some sort of ethos that encourages a “look but don’t touch, and leave no trace” approach to studying primitive extraplanetary life forms, and they’ll be happy enough to continue observing us indefinitely. If not, then we’re all fucked anyway, so we might as well just carry on with our lives as usual until the eradication begins.
