  1. Positive, in regards to security issues, both Poland and Lithuania have identical issues on their border (rus/belarus), so if we work together its always a positive.

  2. Whats not to like?
Anyone objecting any security coop between two friendly nations is a vatnik. If it were up to me id board them on the good ol siberian express and shoot them russias way to fuck off to their beloved lands.

  3. During the Russias war in Ukraine, we need to be unified. There’s a credible and common threat.

After the war, I think the relationship can go many ways. Poland has real problems with democracy

  4. Lithuania – Poland border is important strategically as it lands-connects the entire Baltics to the rest of Europe. So we should get as close as possible together in a military context.

  5. Positive and negative at the same time. Eastern europeans should have a Eastern Europe defense agreement that is seperate from NATO. We have been hurt by russians the most and we have the most incentive to prepare. Lithuania though has a diaspora of Polish-Lithuanians that are living in a region of Lithuania that has been taken by military means by Poland some 100 years ago and those Polish-Lithuanians do not want to assimilate. They also use this stupid term where they say that Vilnius is Polish. Poland and Lithuania has a great history together and Poland is Lithuanias largest-closest military ally, but historically Poland has taken advantage of Lithuania. During the GDPL it is well known how Lithuania had less rights that Poland, the Polish language was the more prefered Language. Jokes about GDPL are fine, but I would say history should stay history.

Militarily this alliance is very good if it has no other, dark, long term plan.

  6. Hopefully most of the military will be concentrated around suvalki gap, its the most vulnerable part of our borders

  7. Positive, always up for some brotherly relations between the two countries. Just hope Poland won’t go all “Wilno nashe” and try to backstab us again.

  8. Only positive. If not PiS party our cooperation would be on even higher level. As was with Lech Kaczyński.

  9. > the talks included joint arms purchases

This is what I’ve been thinking about lately. I like it. Poland and all three Baltic states could potentially benefit from joint arms purchases. Collective bargaining + joint maintenance sounds like way to reduce costs of equipment.
