Ah this is terrible. There are so many people who take comfort in these statues and shrines. I pass an old fella with his little dog every morning to work and he stops at the virgin Mary shrine everytime to say a prayer.
I reckon it was just some dickhead and his mates, like it always is. No hate involved. But in this climate you could easily see shit like this getting escalated into something it’s not
I’m an atheist and no fan of the church but that’s very disrespectful of someone’s religious beliefs and downright nasty vandalism. Those statues mean a lot to some people.
