Throughout all this the only thing I can think of: **Their actions lead to this, These 2 could have stopped.**
The UK police lying to protect their reputation……..surely not /sarcasm
All of this stems from their own stupidity.
Did they deserve to die? Absolutely not. But their own actions put themselves at risk/in a position were they could get hurt (or in this case worse).
Don’t expect other people to protect your safety if you aren’t willing to protect it yourself.
So the ‘evidence’ is a different police vehicle following different scrotes on a different scooter?
This will be conveniently ignored. Outrage will just continue anyway.
Police have just given a press conference and made it pretty clear they were not involved in the crash.
All the information they have, CCTV footage, trackers in Police vehicles and witness statements shows no Police vehicle anywhere near the incident. An independent investigation will take place, which is of course the right thing to do.
The family should be allowed to grieve, but starting a war with the Police which caused a massive riot isn’t the way to go about it.
Incredible that people are *still* trying to argue that they weren’t chasing these kids when there’s now footage proving that they were speeding along seconds behind them for at least 6 minutes and right up until a minute before they crashed and died. Regardless of how you feel about the kids who died it’s completely unacceptable that the police misled the public by claiming they had no involvement in this incident until CCTV footage started emerging proving that this wasn’t true.
I’m interested to hear how they got hold of said E-bike? Aren’t they like £4000?
Latest tracking data from the press conference:
We have been confirming that we have clear witness accounts, analysing tracking data from police vehicles and studying CCTV and this is what we now know:
17:59.40 – CCTV shows the bike travelling towards the police vehicle in Frank Road. The bike then turns around.
18:00.52 – The bike is followed by the police vehicle, which you have already seen on CCTV images. Blue lights or sirens were not illuminated.
18:01.18 – Police vehicle is at New Ely Church roundabout and travels through Archer Road, Stanway Road and Howell Road.
18:02.31 – Police vehicle turns onto Grand Avenue.
18:02.17 – 18:02.41 approximate time of the road traffic collision in Snowden Road. At the time of the collision, the police van is in Grand Avenue, half a mile away from Snowden Road.
18:06.59 – The police vehicle is on Cowbridge Road West when it receives information about a road traffic collision, illuminates blue lights and makes its way to the collision scene.
hence 1 minute later, they could have been half a mile from the cops
Who cares, the police didn’t cause this accident, they clearly weren’t present at the actual accident, turning miscommunication into some weird conspiracy because you don’t like coppers, it’s tragic but the fault is clearly with the people driving dangerously
If ive understood everything so far, the police look like they were tailing the kids suspecting something was up but not actively chasing them? The kids are on an electric bike capable of significant speeds which, best case scenario, was given to them by a family member (make your own assumptions on that). Neither are even wearing helmets by the looks of it and apparently die as a result of an accident due to their speed.
The main story is that the Police throughout this hasnt followed the handbook, and the whole incident and subsequent riot and national press attention is exactly why they’re told to report everything exactly as it happens. The statement initially made followed by CCTV footage makes them unreliable for now.
The elephant in the room is that we need a national conversation in how to deal with anti social behaviour in under 18s. Because clearly schools are struggling to manage the kids who dont seem to experience consequences at home. And in this specific instance, the police either allow crime to happen or potentially allow kids to get themselves killed. Not to sound like a 60 year old Tory, but where are the parents?
This video shows they were at quite some distance just prior to the crash before they turned left:

Van is driving so slow… if they really wanted to chase them then they would be right behind
What the media appear to be miss out from all this is its not a usual pedal assist ebike that they were on, it was a E-Motorcycle which require license, tax, insurance, plates, HELMETS …etc etc.
Even if the police had been chasing them, they are as much at fault as a train driver when someone chances a crossing and gets killed. Sad no less but avoidable for the injured party.
