phishing SMS?

  1. As a general rule: if you have to ask, the answer is yes.

(And post won’t send sms from a non-luxembourgish number, nor ask for payment by sms, nor are they going to use a random website adress …)

  2. Let’s break down the signs that it’s a scam.

It’s not a luxembourgish number. Post has a couple of those…. so they would use one.

Post doesn’t ask you to pay anything before getting your package. (This isn’t something most people would know) If something has to be paid, the mailman (or women) will ask you to pay or you get a message to retrieve it at a post office and pay there. (For example, if you are not home)

The website isn’t a luxembourgish one, and neither is it a post.lu one. Post has their own domain and uses it for almost everything. There is one exception, but it’s just for information. It would be the support.pt.lu, so anything else most likely is a fake.

  3. Yes it’s fake, Post don’t even want to send SMS for their Packup service anymore 😂
Now you have to download their app to get the push notification once it’s delivered.

    Plus:
    – not a Luxembourgish number,
    – Post don’t ask for payment by SMS,
    – they wouldn’t use a random domain for the link

  4. Man I am so tired of these fu******…in one day alone I got 12 msgs from them!! sadly none of the service providers filter them out like in other countries

  5. Always check the number where it comes from, unless lux number it is definitely a scam. Even with lux phone numbers, be cautious.
