    Afgaande van het feit dat zijn naam genoemd wordt, verwacht ik dat hij de zwaarste kwalificatie zal krijgen: moord met voorbedachten rade.

    How are we going to tackle the problem when we do not even put resources on measuring it?

    They talk about more than [100 police interventions every day in Belgium](https://www.vrt.be/vrtnws/nl/kijk/2023/06/02/fast-explainer-hoe-vaak-komt-partnergeweld-voor-en-waarom-is-het/) due to “domestic violence”, but only activist organizations against feminizide are [giving unofficial information about the number of murdered](https://stopfeminicide.blogspot.com/p/violences-machistes.html).

    I really would like to know what the hell are we (our government) waiting for to tackle this, because it is said that the police figures are just the tip of the iceberg, and many many women do not dare even to report…

    IMO, the violence against women is a consequence of sexism, so the solution comes from improving education in equality, apart of legislation and enforcement, giving the maximum support to women when they want to report, and even granting safety afterwards, to avoid retaliation by their (former) partners.

    edit: respecting the other comments, it is super evident how the media sets the opinion frames. We should start working more in the root cause and prevention of the problems, rather than in the effects. More than 100 women everyday are suffering.

  5. Ik vind het zeer kwalijk dat de naam hier wel word genoemd, terwijl het proces nog niet is gevoerd.
    Wat daaruit blijkt zullen we moeten afwachten en handmgt af of de rechter zijn mentale problemen erkent. Voorschreven medicatie door een dokter is een sterk argument hiervoor.
    Maar de vraag is, willen we leven in een maatschappij waarin zo iemand terug een kans krijgt, en geholpen wordt met de mentale problemen?
