Cadbury flake “too crumbly” for 99 cones, ice cream sellers find

  1. I’ve felt like the Flake you get on 99s has been fairly terrible for years compared to a normal Flake. Are they actually different, or is it just that your mouth is too cold to melt a 99 Flake? Important question this time of year I feel.

  2. Cadburys has been garbage for years, the sooner we all accept that the sooner we can find better alternatives.

  3. There’s too much crumble, I’m afraid to even leave the house nowadays. I can’t go into the city because I’ll be crumbled on.

  4. Too crumbly? TOO CRUMBLY? But Only the crumbliest, fllakiest chocolate tasted like chocolate never tasted before

  5. Mondelez bought it didn’t they?
Turning all Cadbury into American chocolate made mostly of wax I am guessing.

Sure, it’s all still in deep in Russia and getting deeper too since Russia invaded Ukraine from what I read. Ukraine have named them a Sponsor or War.
So their brands have been off the shopping list here in the house for a while.

  6. Asked the icer for a 99 with sprinkles the other day and he said “I don’t do sprinkles, that would be like putting a blanket over the Mona Lisa” these ice cream men are getting a bit precious 😂😂

  7. My staple ice-cream is Teddy’s, and they must not use Flakes as it just doesn’t taste ‘right’. Wonder if it’s the German ripoff flakes referred to in the linked Guardian article. Icecream tastes amazing though, obv. But, had a cone somewhere else last week with a real flake in it, and it tasted phenomenal. Lovely crumbliness.

  8. The Twirl would solve this issue would it not ? The extra layer of chocolate would reduce excess crumble.

  9. Such crap from RTÉ. Makes you wonder what rights we’ve lost or which government assets has Fine Gael flogged off for pennys in the background.
