I’m confident nothing untoward happened over speeding course, says Suella Braverman

  1. “I’m confident that nothing will happen whether I did anything wrong or not,” says Braverman.

  2. >The Rishi Sunak has asked his ethics adviser about the case.

I’m noticing more and more instances of mistakes like this recently when it comes to BBC News articles.

  3. I’m sure that’s the last we will hear of that matter then 😉

It would be embarrassing if she’s forced to resign for a second time in six months for breaching the code.

Will Sunak go full nuts and place Patel back in the job…still time for her to get sacked again too.

  4. I’m interested to hear whether Braverman considers this kind of behaviour fits in with her much vaunted “British values” or not.

  5. There are now 2 issues, neither of which are addressed.

    1. The involvement of civil servants in this, which was serious enough that they complained.

    2. Her office denying that the speeding offence had happened, and instructing her publically funded spads to lie to the press.

    Both are resigning offences.

  6. Minister notorious for breaking ministerial rules is sure she didn’t break ministerial rules when involving the civil service in assisting with personal matters.

  7. Isn’t this worded very similarly to Boris’ “I’ve been advised they weren’t parties” defence?

It’s trying to sidestep the issue that – in the Boris case – *he was fucking there*.

And in this case, it’s not denying that she asked the civil service to intervene, but that she’s ‘confident nothing untoward happened’

But, hey, it’s par for course with the current party…

  8. When did the ‘honourable resignation’ become so optional?

I remember Lord Carrington resigning as Foreign Sec. for not spotting that the Argentines were serious about claiming the Falklands. If I remember correctly Thatcher was relutant to accept his resignation.

Patel did not resign when caught out operating her own foreign policy visit to Israel behind Prime Minister May’s back, she had to be sacked.

Was it Johnson who just decided to toss the rules in the bin? Yet he himself resigned..

  9. She was attempting to abuse her position and power to imtimidate civil servants for preferential treatment. Thatsaclear fact. It depends how seriously you view it, I guess.

  10. she’ll get sacked for this sooner or later but I am so worn down I dont care.

a speeding ticket? there sewage in rivers. lawless cities and failing infrastructure. who cares?

  11. I am really sick of this country and the absolute cunts we call a government

It’s all beyond a joke and it seems to get worse every day

  12. I detest her. However, I don’t think the original thing is that bad at all.

Lying about it sure is though

  13. We investigated ourselves and found nothing wrong, as detailed in this report that we’re definitely going to release to the public as soon as I’ve dealt with this massive pile of paperwork. Oh and then we have that thing, you know the one. I might have to push it to next year but then we’ll definitely release it, unless the printer has jammed again.

  14. I’m confident Suella Braverman is a vicious righty bitch who I wouldn’t trust to watch a puppy for 5 minutes in case she tries to dagger its guts open
