Are Hennessy trying to market to a particular demographic?

  1. This is a loose reference to the Cobden-Chevalier Treaty, considered the “first free trade agreement”, it upended over a century of stringent tariffs on French wine and spirits that began with the War of Succession and lasted well beyond the Napoleonic Wars. It was a boon for the cognac industry, exports to Britain soared and the entire industry became more dynamic. It’s just another page in the Gallic/ Anglo-Saxon love-hate relationship.
