History repeats itself: Dnieper dam blown up by Russians – 1941

  1. It is interesting that from the text the author is aware that the terms “Soviets” and “Russians” are not identical. However, he still used the title “Dnieper dam blown up by Russians”.

Is this yet another selective memory that magically divides “Russian” and “Soviet” depending on the context of the situation? And if the context is positive, then the term “Soviet” should be used, and if it is negative, then “Russian”? Because when credit must be given – then all nations withing USSR deserve it – hence “Soviets.” And when you want to find the culprit, it’s easy – “Russians” are to blame?

Like, the text itself uses the following phrase
    >outstanding symbol of **Soviet** industrial civilisation.

while it was **Russians** who blown up the dam.

More and more I see such doublethink and delusion. Who was the first to go into space? Soviets. Who blew up the Chernobyl nuclear power plant? Russians. Who reached Berlin and defeated the mighty Wehrmacht? Soviets. Who raped all the Germans? Russians.

You can’t have one’s cake and eat it too. Soviets isn’t a Schroedinger cat that magically changes its nationality from context.

  2. Russia washes away their own anti-tank mines, defensive fortifications and cuts the water to Crimea off permanently.

    Such bone heads.
