Sometimes it is worth waking up at 5 am.

  1. Top Tip: if you wait until December 22nd, you don’t have to get up until 08:39 to catch the sunrise. That’s a whopping 196 days, three hours and 39 minutes of a lie-in.

  2. Well I was awake at 6am. But turned over and fell asleep till 9 cos I don’t have work till 11.

    Sometimes that’s better too.

  3. Beautiful sunrise. Thank the Canadians, probably due to the smoke from the fires those poor bastards are dealing with.

  4. Absolutely. Been up early the last three mornings, down to the bog to get the turf risen and outta there before it gets too warm. I lovebthe heat, but the bog is torture when it’s scorchio outside.

  5. Expect to see a Mr Darcy striding on the horizon, its very like the gorgeous Dawn scene in the 2005 P&P

And cousin Greg gangly running along close behind, because he’s never too far from Tom Wambsgans ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|laughing)

  6. I wake up naturally around 5-6 and have seen some beautiful mornings. When the sun rises behind my house, it shines through a load of laurels and leaves this dappled sunlight pattern splashed across the walls in the living room and kitchen. When there’s a subtle breeze, it honestly looks like I’m underwater with the way the light moves. It’s just… *chef’s kiss*

  7. Had a shitty landscaping job once where had to be up at 5.45 each day to leave in time to get to the office at 7 and the highlight of my long ass 10-12 hour days was seeing the sunrise on the drive in.

It was a lovely moment of bliss and beauty each morning before a typically stressful day

  8. Hmm at this time of year, you would be going to bed when it’s bright to catch this sunrise which is always a jarring experience.

  9. Spare a thought for this pleb who doesn’t get to sleep until about 5 or 6am because he took a job in a late bar.

  10. If you aren’t taking an early plane on holiday or a kid on Christmas morning, 5 am shouldn’t exist for you. That’s my truth and I’m sticking to it.
