Thats the scientific proof people, we should use violence! Lets burn stuff! Anything at all
But the extremly biased “article” is kinda right sadly…
Agree to demands? Huh?
Macron and the government forced the retiring age law and it is done. They don’t backtrack and give 0 fucks about what protesters say or burn.
3 million went in Paris to protest against the ugly skyscraper in Montparnasse. The result? Nothing changed. It is still there, making the area look bad.
Unless a party loses the election severely following a protest, the protest is simply irrelevant to them.
Except that the violent protests in France have been ignored completely.
Sorry I missed the reversal of the pension age changes in France, can someone link an article please?
Both methods are equally effective, it’s just that one of them doesn’t satiate two-bit internet leftists’ lust for blood and violence.
Both equally ineffective, but one is a lot easier to clean up after.
Brits are docile
~~That could explain why there’s still a king in England~~.
Edit: thanks I didn’t know that
Are you unironically criticising British protestors for not being violent? Are you a psychopath?
To be honest, ours rarely get any of their demands met anymore either. The only thing we get is the satisfaction that at least we got to break their balls for a while in return.
At this point, France is pretty well desensitized to violent protests. Once you’re down to burning stuff, what’s the next escalation? Burning more stuff?
What do people in France want? Change! When? Never!
How did this work out with the pension age?
Wait when did the French government ever agree to any protesters’ demands?
They should be burning down the houses and properties of the people who wronged them. Not random shit on the street.
I feel like the infrequency of British protest has more to do with it
That’s why public services and quality of life is better in France! We are too stupid and divided to get real change and prevent the further deterioration of public services!
There was violence during the student fees protests. It changed nothing, and if anything solidified public opinion against the protestors and allowed the Tory-Dems to more easily pass the legislation.
And then if you do this in america its all “why are they destroying their own community???”
What if protests, violent or otherwise, are not the will of the masses? Should the government still do what the protesters want.
What if what the protesters want will massively damage the country or economy, should the protesters still get what they want?
Not making a comment on either protest in the photo, but I don’t think the government should blindly listen to protesters. Much better to listen to election results or even opinion polls to get an idea of what the actual thoughts of the country are.
