Hi,
I am looking for help on heat pumps such as this one – [https://www.daikin.eu/en\_us/product-group/air-to-air-heat-pumps.html](https://www.daikin.eu/en_us/product-group/air-to-air-heat-pumps.html) from someone who has actually used them here in luxembourg. Want to understand how effective they are in Lux weather, how much does it cost initially and while running. Thanks

I’ve got one, but I’m actually clueless about it. It came with the house and, it keeps the house warm and it was a rather minor point in the grand scheme of buying your own place.
All in all I’m happy with it, but as it was already in place when I got here, I’m also quite ignorant about it.
There are a few things that stand out to me though:
– I don’t really know how much energy I use for heating as it’s mixed up with my regular electrical consumption. Maybe newer installations come with meters or perhaps you can put it on a separate circuit?
– The government’s electricity price freeze expires next year so be sure to do your maths on the potential costs.
A major point in the efficiency is the heat transfer from the pump into the rooms. A heat pump paired with floor heating is usually way cheaper to run than a pump paired with regular, small radiators.
The ones paired with radiators are more prone to cause trouble in winter, the floor heating one not so much.
Isolation of the house also helps a lot.
(Used to rent a place with a pump, worked fine, a bit noisy in winter)
Now is the best year to get a heat Pump you will get 50% subsidies from the government to buy it: [https://environnement.public.lu/fr/emweltprozeduren/personnes-privees/Energie/prime-house-22.html](https://environnement.public.lu/fr/emweltprozeduren/personnes-privees/Energie/prime-house-22.html)
Any idea about air to air heat pumps? The ones that use the indoor unit to throw hot air in winter? The ones so far in this thread seem to be air to water heat pumps which are complex and ultimately use the radiators or as you commented, floor heating..
Mine uses about 125 kwh a month. If its hot, it cools, if its cold, it warms.
Got it, did you also explore the multi-indoor unit option where you can use multiple indoor units all linked to one outdoor unit? How much was the initial setup cost and which company did it for you?
