Non-EU Citizens who fled Ukraine Granted EU Temporary Protection (4M, end of April 2023)

  1. It’s really annoying that Bulgaria has done a lot for Ukrainians – shelter and such. Yet we never get any credit. And instead we are labelled as a Pro-Russian, backwards country.

  2. 4 millions of life disrupted (not counting the people who are still in Ukraine), millions of people who don’t know when they will be able to go back to their life, who don’t know for many of them what they will find when returning home.

When looking at these numbers, we should never forget how many tears they represent

  3. As I’ve been working with the refugees in Germany, non-Ukrainians fleeing the war were sent to their respective countries’ embassies, since, well, they can still return to the homeland where people don’t get bombed daily. Not sure if the other countries follow the suit, but for Germany it’s most likely just Ukrainians, not the broader “non-EU citizens who fled Ukraine”

  4. As an Italian that has lived the refugee crisis from Africa to Europe it’s not a surprise to see France has those numbers. I am yet again disappointed in our neighbour

  5. French numbers seem quite low. Laws are there specifically to give Ukrainians special rights and privileges that EU and French citizens have access to, especially for education. I wonder what gives…

  6. There is a good document made by the ESI (European Stability Initiative) in French that explained kinda the reasons why France is so low ([if you’re interested](https://www.esiweb.org/sites/default/files/reports/pdf/ESI%20-%20Olga%20%C3%A0%20Paris%20-%2014%20f%C3%A9vrier%202023.pdf)). The most highlighted points are :

    * France recieved less demands relative to population
    * The means to have information on how to get to France for people living in Ukraine is horrible and still sometimes mostly in French, where you have to jump website from website while still not finding what you want. Making people not choose France to take refuge
    * The social aid they would recieve in France is ridiculous compare to some other countries (Ukrainian refugees recieve up to 3 times more money in Germany for example).

  7. It’s such a shame that there is a disgusting cohort of our citizens that blame all of the country’s ailments on literal war refugees

Energy prices too high? Refugees are to blame

Czech schools overfilling because all governments ignored population trends? Refugees are to blame

Literally any crime happens? Refugees are to blame

Ukrainian flag on a building? Literally 1984

    Raining outside? Zelensky fault

Stub your toe? Must’ve been ukies

A good third of this country’s citizens are chauvinistic cretins

  8. Ukrainian refugees now exceed 1.5% of the population of Ireland and we are welcoming more. Many have returned home and many more are arriving each week. Its costing Billions of Euro but in my opinion its money well spent and we can do more!

  9. 4 million people out of 44 million felt the need to escape from warzone.

Overall it’s nice that we accepted so many of them but it’s also so f*cking sad that so many had to abandon everything.

  10. Proud of my country the Netherlands.

Hope we can do more since housing refugees is our biggest problem atm.

I am on the road for work a lot. Almost every ride I see UA numberplates. Makes me hope they feel comfortable at least.
