  1. >And they have defended the idea to raise questions about the betting tax driven funding of the horse and greyhound racing industry, with Hill declaring the levy as a ‘good example’ of government delivering a stimulus to a sport and Barrett calling for an increase from 2pc to 3pc so the wealth can be spread.

    >The duo were speaking at a press conference in Abbotstown to accompany the announcement of the FAI’s 15-year-vision for infrastructure.

  2. Oh it should be hindered, ever cent that the FAI gets it hands on should be careful tracked.

  3. “We’ve already done a musical chairs to pretend we’re not all criminals”

FAI should be shut down for their support of British terrorists.

  4. The “outrage” some people towards their questioning about the betting tax is ridiculous. The funding is ridiculously skewed in favour of the horse racing industry that’s already the plaything of the rich and powerful.

  5. Nobody gives a shit about greyhound racing. Harold’s cross is long gone and the crowds in Shelbourne park are dismal. Why is the government so keen to prop up a sport which is barely existant and rife with cruelty?

  6. I think the FAI have a neck like a jockeys bollox coming out asking for 400m+ from the government -especially after their previous mismanagement of funds.

Let their supporter base raise money first. Sports council funding paid them 25m last year.

Don’t get me wrong, I love football in Ireland. I love LOI, but I don’t love FAI and how they’ve made such a shambles of running ‘their’ sport.

  7. Good report. If you dont ask you don’t get.

If we want a football industry in Ireland this is what is required. The stats in the report speaknfor themselves.
