I wonder if it would be more cost efficient to license produce locally the M270 MRLS instead instead of jointly developing a brand new one. It took 5 years to develop that and that required the full resource of the United Kingdom, United States, West Germany, France and Italy.
Why? We aren’t in the 60’s anymore MLRS systems are only useful for two things as area denial weapons against very large troop movements and to bombard cities neither of which seems to be particularly useful today…
