Hi!

I am a Canadian citizen applying for the Youth Mobility Visa/Working Holiday Visa under category D – *Young Canadians who wish to stay in Germany for tourism and cultural discovery purposes while being authorized to work to supplement their financial resources.* I am mailing in my application to the German Consulate in Toronto and plan to move to Germany August 2023.

I have a couple questions regarding the application that I was hoping someone who went through this successfully could help me clarify:

Appreciative for any help and advice – thank you so much!!

1. **Videx Application Form** \- In the “Travel Data” section, what should I put my “to” date as? Should this be 12 months from my arrival date since the Youth Mobility Visa covers 12 months or should I leave it blank if I do not have a definitive date at the moment?
2. **Videx Application Form** *-* In the “Means of Support and Details Regarding the Stay” section, what is “Has a formal declaration of commitment been completed” mean? Do I select no?
3. **Proof of Sufficient Funds** \- I have sufficient funds, but the bank statement I am providing is from a US bank account, would that be ok? Or does it have to be from a Canadian bank account since I am applying as a Canadian citizen?
4. **Proof of Travel Health Insurance** \- Has anyone used Feather’s Premium Expat Insurance Coverage for their application? Would this work? [https://feather-insurance.com/expat-health-insurance](https://feather-insurance.com/expat-health-insurance)
5. **Flight Itinerary** \- Does my arrival flight to Germany have to be from Canada to Germany since I am applying as a Canadian citizen? OR can the flight be from any city to Germany (eg.one-way flight from New York to Germany)
6. **Visa Fee -** The visa fee of $115 CAD must be paid by bank draft or money order when submitting the application by mail. If I do not have a Canadian bank account, how should I make this payment? Can it be under a relative’s name or it has to be under my name?
