I like the idea of two levels of government, it prevents runaway governments.
Not a fan of unelected, life time people without any actual experience or knowledge
Maybe we need to have a second election for the house of lords, or have them represent the councils of the UK. So if you’re council is labour you can get a labour representative in the house, might allow smaller parties to get a voice in government
I wouldn’t mind hereditary seats if they were treated like the monarchy. No votes, just sign things.
Quirk of tradition with bare minimum impact.
Is this Nepotism running rampant in the UK seems like it is and I am shocked truly shocked
Councillors from each borough should elect a rep for their area on 5 yr terms subject to reselection.
I want an upper chamber but maybe one per county.
Perhaps limit it to MP’s who have served a number of years.
Either that or a council of experts across sciences, business and trade unions.
Anything is better than what we have now
Brandon Stark should get it for no apparent reason.
Have the electoral commission not heard of King Charles and more specifically how he got the gig?
I am related to olaf the black.
..back in the viking days….he was a king ..I demand my destiny as a great great gt gt gt gt ect ect grandson …it is my right ….see….see where this is going 😆 na…oh well back to bouncing on the doors then
Probably had zero interest and experience with politics and suddenly their heritage suddenly became relevant?.
Nepotism: no wonder the government here is a dirty mess.
The UK never modernised it’s political system after the failed revolution.
meanwhile blair stole my grandfather’s seat in the lords in 1999
