The whole case is a clusterfuck.
John Kristoffer clearly has some sort of condition, which he should be getting treatment for. Unfortunately he does not seem to be interested in that.
The US justice system has some pretty bad deficiencies, and should be improved so that it is in accordance with modern standards. Unfortunately the US system and population doesn’t seem interested in such improvements.
I remember seeing an interview with him where he said he had applied to be put in a part of the jail where less violent offenders were doing time.(he was apparantly serving with murderers, rapists and the like)
Warden had told him that would be like putting a great white in a goldfish bowl..The guy has a fucking traffic offense that was spun into some sort of assault with a deadly weapon..American justice system is a joke.
I couldn’t get past the VG paywall so I Googled. It looks like Larsgard was convicted for aggravated assault after he drove into a street festival and hit someone with his car.

I remember that case, it was one the contributing factors to me deciding to never visit the US.
The Norwegian government should just really just have made it public through media and shhould’ve made complaints to the UN, it’s fucking clear that the story and judgement is very weird and he had zero motive for wanting to hurt these people
