CREG / VREG warns consumers against Mega: “They artificially get good results in price comparison websites”.

  1. I have a contract with mega through samensterker. Samensterker didn’t do a new round of negotiations last time.

My contract ends in january and I have no clue what I should do.

Wait for the next round of negotiations in may and switch or switch now? If I switch what would be a good alternative? Should I just go with a company that produces their own energie and be done with it? That leaves engi, Luminus and Eneco. I have a suspicion that I’m getting screwed no matter what company I go with. What I pay is never what the simulations tell me. There are a fuck ton of extra costs so just comparing the price of kWh doesn’t work. I have gas and electricity so one might be cheaper here and the other cheaper elsewhere but then the extra costs of just being connected and stuff evens it out. The bills are more complex that my loonbrief and that’s a feat of its own…

  2. While Mega deserves the flak for raising the prepayments for fixed contracts, calling them out for gaming is way over the top.

Engie does it, Luminus does it, heck even that bankrupt vlaamse energieleverancier did it. Where are their names in all this..
