I’ve been seeing news articles about “redefining” laws in relation to construction, how effective would you say these are?

  1. Even if there is a law, don’t worry, the developer will fill up some pockets to bypass it…that’s why there are some new six floor apartment built up on old houses that will fall apart at the first shake

  2. In theory they exist, and can be used against average Joe.

in practice, they are just like most other laws in Malta, what the Maltese language defines as ‘bzar fl-ghajnejn’.

  3. Even if they enacted new laws, its pointless anyway.

Lived here long enough to know that construction laws are nonexistent. Even if they’re implemented, enforcement is close to nil.
