  1. Reminds me of that time doing a house renovation (my house) when I pulled a newspaper out of a void in the wall to see John’s Humes face on the cover. Apparently there were Irish owners in the house 20 years before me!

  2. class, my da found a load from April 1945 a few years back. Ill post pics next time im at the parents place. some chat about hitler and all in it, its fairly cool

  3. Great find and the comments that are locking in on the date are a bonus.

I had similar finds while doing work in my folks house. The air vents in the bedrooms were like time capsules, stuffed with newspapers from decades ago and various types of clothing / material.

**On another note** : (ahem) I remember in the mid / late 70’s, I found a magazine stuffed up behind the speaker of the Radiogram in our sitting room. – The magazine had images of naked people doing gymnastics, wrestling, physical education and the ‘heimlich manoeuvre’.

…. I think I’ll just leave it at that. 😉

  4. Everyone in older houses should check nooks and crannies in the attic and elsewhere l for “artifacts.” My neighbors found a cigar box full of 1920s dated money (change and low bills – probably stolen from a church lol). I found an old gun cleaning kit, shotgun shells and “Kennedy Killed” Nov 1963 newspaper in the our basement rafters.
